Car Shopping

Choose a car from a small range of not very exciting cars to start with, liek the Toyota Corolla or Mitsubishi Eclipse, then roam the huge Need For Speed World looking for races. These can be multi or single player, and get into chases with the cops. Evading the police and ranking in races gives you experience points and money, which in turn unlock better cars that you can buy in the Need For Speed World showroom.

Mods

Your cars can be modified with stickers, paint and decals, and power-ups can be chosen and purchased with in game money. Need For Speed World seems pretty stable, even with loads of players online. When you enter the open world you can't crash into other players, only the environment and other traffic. Online players can only push you around if you enter a race. The cars in Need For Speed World have the forgiving, arcade style handling that makes the franchise such fun to play.

There is online chat alongside the racing, and you can add friends and meet up to race them. Graphically Need For Speed World is ok, but looks a few years old. However, this means you don't need a super computer to play the game!

Overall

Need For Speed World is an impressive massively multiplayer online racing game, and although it looks a bit basic it's really playable.

Hitman Pro is quick and portable and, best of all, doesn't conflict with standard antivirus applications, so you can use it for a second opinion without things getting complicated. There are two scan modes - Quick and Default - and you can set Hitman Pro to scan on computer start-up.

The Hitman Pro interface is modern and attractive; the scans are quick and the results are easy to read. The program doesn't have a huge number of configuration options, but the ones that do feature are useful - for example, Hitman Pro integrates into Windows Explorer context menus, and it will also create an automatic restore point. Even so, we missed greater scheduling options.

Hitman Pro seems to be accurate. On our test system, it didn't find anything, but then again, we make a big effort to keep things clean. It did find the traces of tracking cookies that had already been removed, however, so the chances of it finding real infections are pretty good. Hitman Pro is no replacement for a general anti-virus, but if you are looking for a second opinion, it's a good bet.

All the tools included in Glary Utilities are generally very intuitive and in case they make important changes to the system (like the Registry repairing tool) Glary Utilities creates a backup copy first.

Not all the tools included in Glary Utilities include configuration settings, something we missed in some of them such as the Disk cleaner. Also, we would like to have a Firefox Assistant, the same way the program includes an Internet Explorer Assistant.

Download Guild Wars 2 Guild Wars 2 è un MMORPG che si rinnova nel gameplay e nella grafica. Storia personalizzata e difficoltà elevata ne fanno un gioco diverso da altri titoli del genere. Dopo Guild Wars Eye of the north, i fan della serie si chiedevano se ArenaNet sarebbe stata capace di potrare un gioco nuovo, che non fosse un'ennesima versione di World of Warcraft sotto mentite spoglie. La risposta è sì, ed è anche molto meglio del primo Guild Wars. Come in Star Wars The Old Republic, anche in Guild Wars 2 le scelte di razza e classe che effettuerai nella creazione del personaggio non saranno puramente estetiche ma influenzeranno l'evoluzione del gioco e della storia. Se il primo capitolo era un gioco di ruolo collaborativo, Guild Wars 2 è più un MMO competitivo, come lo hanno definito gli stessi sviluppatori. Ma soprattutto è la difficoltà e varietà a distinguerlo da altri giochi del genere. Evolvere il tuo personaggio fino al massimo livello di esperienza non è più qualcosa di "automatico" che ti vede ripetere le stesse missioni. E i combattimenti sono molto più tattici, nel senso che ti obbligheranno a usare incantesimi e strategie diverse a seconda del nemico. Guild Wars 2 è anche un gioco più sociale che ti permette di entrare in battaglie e combattimenti appena ne vedrai uno. A livello grafico è poi un autentico spettacolo e il sonoro accompagna alla perfezione le immagini. Peccato solo per gli elevati requisiti. Ma il genere è duro a morire, e lo dimostra anche il continuo sviluppo di Tibia, che nonostante più di dieci anni di vita, si ritrova sempre con i server pieni di giocatori. Ambientato in un classico universo fantasy, funziona alla perfezione anche su macchine datate ed è gratuito. È comunque possibile acquistare un abbonamento per accedere a ulteriori contenuti e aree. Lo stile di Tibia è piuttosto classico. Una volta creato un personaggio, è necessario aspettare l'ottavo livello prima di scegliere una professione (in questo caso chiamata Vocazione) vera e propria. Paladini, cavalieri, stregoni e druidi sono le quattro classi disponibili. Sono supportate le gilde, il commercio tra i giocatori e, nella maggior parte dei server, anche il PVP (player-versus-player), ovvero la possibilità di combattere contro altri giocatori. AnVir Task Manager non è un gestore di processi qualunque. Oltre a mostrarti quelli attivi, cambiare la loro priorità o terminarli, ti permette di analizzare/abilitare/disabilitare i processi (anche nascosti) in esecuzione automatica all'avvio di Windows. Non solo, AnVir Task Manager Free offre un elevato dettaglio di funzioni e informazioni su ogni processo, le DLL che utilizza e le porte aperte su Internet. Riconosce anche i driver presenti nel sistema e ti mostra i relativi dati. Allo stesso modo può monitorare il traffico inviato e ricevuto sul web, l'uso della CPU, della RAM e tenere sotto controllo il carico dell'hard disk. In più AnVir è un Task manager intelligente, offrendo anche varie funzioni legate alla sicurezza, come la possibilità di rilevare nuovi processi e bloccare l'esecuzione di quelli sospetti, oppure effettuare la scansione online di un singolo processo con il servizio VirusTotal. Questo, comunque, è solo un piccolo assaggio delle potenzialità di un software che impressiona per il quantitativo di opzioni offerto. Tuttavia, AnVir Task Manager Free ha anche i suoi lati negativi: l'interfaccia è disponibile solo in inglese ed è stracolma di informazioni, talmente tante che a volte si fa fatica a trovare quella desiderata.
